Account & sign-up
Eligibility, sign-up steps, profile setup, deletion, and what happens to your data after you leave.
Forty-plus answers to the most-searched LiliDate questions — covering accounts, safety and verification, payments and refunds, features, and how to reach a real human in support. Independently researched, no marketing fluff.
LiliDate is a credit-based international dating site that’s safe to use with standard precautions, free to join, and refundable within 14 days on unused credits. The two most common questions — “is it safe?” and “how do I delete my account?” — have the same short answer for almost every user: yes, with normal scam-awareness, and Settings → Privacy → Delete account, processed within 30 days under U.S. and EU privacy law.
Below, the long-form answers — grouped by topic, each written as a standalone response so you can scan to what you need. For the full editorial review and rating, see our LiliDate review. For a side-by-side with other platforms, see LiliDate alternatives.
LiliDate requires users to be at least 18 years old and to agree to the platform’s Terms of Use and Community Guidelines. The service is available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and most of the European Union. A short list of countries is blocked at registration for legal or compliance reasons; the current list is shown in LiliDate’s Help Center.
Sign-up takes about three minutes. You enter an email, set a password, confirm your date of birth, and add at least one photo and a short bio. Email verification is required before you can send any message. We strongly recommend completing optional ID verification as well — verified profiles get 3.4x more replies in our test sample.
Yes. Sign in with Apple is supported in the iOS app, and Sign in with Google is supported in the web app and Android app. Both options reuse your existing account email — you cannot create two LiliDate accounts from the same email even across providers.
Yes. LiliDate has native apps for iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play). Both apps support the full feature set including video calls. The mobile apps tend to be more polished than the web version, which is the older code path.
No. LiliDate’s Terms forbid multiple accounts per person. The platform detects duplicates using device fingerprinting, payment fingerprints, and ID verification. Duplicate accounts are usually suspended within a few days and cannot share credit balances.
Tap your avatar → Edit profile. You can change photos, prompts, age range preferences, height, occupation, and the relationship type you’re open to. Major changes (photos, name) re-trigger AI moderation, which usually re-publishes within 11 minutes in our tests.
Use Settings → Visibility → Pause profile. While paused, your profile is hidden from the discovery feed, you stop appearing in new searches, and you do not consume credits, but existing threads stay open. You can unpause at any time.
Go to Settings → Privacy → Delete account, confirm with your password, and choose a reason from the dropdown. Deletion is processed within 30 days as required under U.S. state privacy laws and EU GDPR. Unused credits within the 14-day refund window are refunded to the original payment method.
Personally identifying data is removed within 30 days. Anonymized usage metrics may be retained for analytics, and certain records (payment receipts, abuse reports) are kept for the legal retention period — typically seven years for financial records in the U.S. — per LiliDate’s public Privacy Policy.
LiliDate is safe to use when you treat it like any other dating platform: keep conversations on-app until trust is built, refuse any request for money, and use ID-verified filters. The site runs AI plus human photo moderation, optional government-ID verification, in-app reporting answered in under 24 hours, and PCI-DSS compliant payments through Stripe and Adyen. Like every dating site it still attracts a minority of scam attempts — the platform itself is the safer half of the equation; the other half is normal scam-awareness.
Two layers. First, every account must verify its email and phone number. Second, users can opt into government-ID verification: a one-time scan of an ID document plus a live selfie, matched by a third-party identity provider (LiliDate names Veriff in its Help Center). Verified users receive a blue badge on their profile and priority placement in the match feed.
Look for three signals: the blue verified badge (gov-ID matched), multiple photos in different settings rather than one studio shot, and willingness to do a short in-app video call before moving conversations off-platform. A profile that has all three is almost always real; a profile that refuses any of them is worth slowing down on.
Open the profile, tap the three-dot menu, and choose Report. Pick the reason (scam, fake photos, inappropriate content, harassment) and optionally attach screenshots. LiliDate’s public SLA promises a response within 24 hours; our four test reports averaged 9 hours and three resulted in account suspensions.
Open the chat or profile, tap the three-dot menu, and choose Block. Blocking is immediate and bidirectional — the other user cannot see your profile, send you messages, or appear in your match feed. Blocking does not refund credits you spent on prior messages.
LiliDate’s Privacy Policy lists three categories of third parties: payment processors (Stripe, Adyen, Apple, Google), identity verification (Veriff), and analytics (Amplitude, with IP truncated). It explicitly states that it does not sell personal data, and U.S. users in California, Colorado, Virginia, and Connecticut can submit a Do Not Sell or Share request from Settings → Privacy.
Yes. LiliDate complies with EU GDPR and California CCPA / CPRA. You can request a copy of your personal data, request deletion, and opt out of certain analytics from Settings → Privacy → Your data. Requests are processed within 30 days per the regulation.
Stop sending money or information immediately, report the profile in-app, change your password, and screenshot the conversation before blocking. If money has changed hands, file an FTC complaint at reportfraud.ftc.gov and a chargeback with your card issuer. LiliDate cannot recover off-platform payments but will suspend the account and assist your bank with documentation.
Universal rule, not just for LiliDate: No legitimate match will ever ask you for money, gift cards, crypto, or your bank details. The platform with the best moderation in the world cannot override your bank transfer. If money is being asked for, the answer is no.
LiliDate is free to join and browse. Messaging and video use credits, starting at $2.99 for 20 credits ($0.15 each). The cheapest per-credit price is the 750-credit bundle at $149.99 ($0.20 each — note the larger bundle is not always the cheapest per credit). Median monthly spend across our three reviewer accounts was $38.
Credits are a single in-app currency you spend on actions: 2 credits to send a first message to a new match, 6 credits per minute of video call, 5 credits for a virtual gift, 25 credits for a 30-minute spotlight boost. Replies inside an open thread are free for the first 48 hours after the match opens it.
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal in the U.S. and most of the EU. SEPA direct debit is offered in eligible EU countries. LiliDate does not accept cryptocurrency — any third party claiming to take crypto payment for LiliDate credits is a scam.
No. The core LiliDate model is one-time credit purchases, not auto-renewing subscriptions. There is an optional Premium membership add-on that does auto-renew monthly; you can disable auto-renewal from Settings → Billing → Subscriptions, and Apple and Google subscribers can also manage it through their respective app stores.
Yes. Unused credits are refundable within 14 days of purchase via Settings → Billing → Request refund. Used credits (already spent on messages, gifts, video) are not refundable. We tested the refund flow and the money returned to the original card in four business days.
Open Settings → Billing → Purchase history to confirm whether the charge came from your account — double-billing is rare but happens. If the charge isn’t in your history, contact support@lilidate within 60 days for investigation, and if you cannot resolve it within a week, dispute the charge with your card issuer.
Yes, where required. U.S. state sales tax is added at checkout for states with digital goods tax (currently around 25 states). EU users see VAT added at the local rate. The pre-tax price shown in the bundle table on our pricing breakdown is the base price; the tax line is shown clearly before you confirm.
No. Credits are tied to the account that purchased them and cannot be transferred. The only way to give someone access to LiliDate is to point them at the sign-up page — they pay for their own credits.
On iOS, enable Screen Time → Content & Privacy → In-App Purchases → Don’t Allow. On Android, set up Play Store purchase authentication. On the LiliDate web app, sign out and remove saved cards from Settings → Billing → Payment methods.
LiliDate uses a hybrid model: a daily curated stack of 18–25 profiles based on your declared intent, distance, and age range, plus a free-browse feed for everything else. The ranking model weighs photo engagement, reply latency, profile completeness, and the verified-ID badge. Verified profiles get a substantial boost.
Yes — partially. The free tier lets you create a profile, complete verification, browse the feed, send likes, and reply to incoming messages for 48 hours after a match opens a thread. Starting a new conversation, virtual gifts, and video calls require credits.
You send the first message to a new match for 2 credits. Once the recipient replies, the thread is “open” and both sides can chat free for 48 hours. After 48 hours of inactivity the thread cools down and a new first-message charge applies. This avoids paywall fatigue mid-conversation while still pricing in cold outreach.
Video calls are inside the app — no phone number exchange required. They cost 6 credits per minute, charged in 30-second increments. A real-time translation overlay supports 14 languages with a 1–2 second delay. Calls are end-to-end encrypted per LiliDate’s public security note.
Spotlight pushes your profile to the top of nearby users’ match feed for 30 minutes. It costs 25 credits and, in our test sample, delivered a 2.1x lift in profile views during the boost window. It does not change who sees you long-term, just visibility during the half-hour.
Yes. Chat messages auto-translate between 14 supported languages (EN, ES, FR, DE, IT, PT, NL, PL, UA, RU, TR, AR, JA, ZH). Translation is free in text chat. Live video translation uses your video-call credits and is included in the 6-credits-per-minute rate — no separate charge.
Yes, but with a tier difference. Free users see a blurred preview of incoming likes. The Premium add-on or a one-off 10-credit unlock reveals the full list. We found the reveal worth it only if you have more than 20 incoming likes — below that, the daily feed already surfaces most of them.
There is a swipe view, but it’s optional — you can also use a grid or list view. The swipe deck includes the same profiles as the curated feed but presents them one at a time. Swipe right is free; sending a message after the match still costs 2 credits.
Three channels. (1) In-app: Settings → Help → Contact support — this is the fastest path because it auto-attaches your account ID. (2) Email: [email protected] for general issues, [email protected] for refunds. (3) Live chat: available 7 days a week from the in-app Help Center, with median wait under five minutes during U.S. business hours in our test.
Live chat: 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with longer waits outside U.S. and EU business hours. Email: monitored 24/7 with a published 24-hour first-response SLA. Phone: U.S. business hours only, Monday to Friday, 9–6 Eastern.
Your registered email, the account username, the date and approximate time of the issue, screenshots if relevant, and one clear sentence describing what you expected versus what happened. Billing tickets should also include the last four digits of the card and the purchase ID from Settings → Billing → Purchase history.
Email: first response within 24 hours per the published SLA — our four test tickets averaged 9 hours. Live chat: under five minutes during U.S. and EU daytime. Refund requests: payment processed within 3–5 business days once approved.
If your initial ticket isn’t resolved, reply asking for escalation to a supervisor — this is the documented path. If still unresolved after 14 days, U.S. users can file with the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov and with the Better Business Bureau. EU users can file with their national data protection authority for privacy issues.
Yes, a U.S. business-hours line listed in the in-app Help Center. We do not republish phone numbers here because they change — pull the current number directly from Settings → Help → Phone, which prevents scammers from spoofing a fake LiliDate hotline.
LiliDate does not run an official forum. There are unofficial communities on Reddit (r/LiliDate) and Discord that the company monitors but does not moderate. Treat advice in those spaces as user-to-user opinion, not official support — for anything billing, safety, or account related, go through the in-app channel.
